Sports Days 2022

PRIMARY 5, 6 AND 7 SPORTS DAY - 9TH JUNE

On Thursday 9th June the teachers of P5,P6, and P7 decided to go ahead with Sports Day for the children. Overall it was a success as the weather stayed dry and sunny, and everyone had fun! There was an activity for everyone, and there were refreshments for the parents to enjoy, making it a good day all around.  By Maria McGarry 6CMC

P1 AND P2 SPORTS DAY

P1 and P2 sports day was a fun time for both them and P6 who were helping at the fun activities.  P2 was on the track for their races.  First they did sprint, solo running and sack races. P1's were doing their fun activiites which included javelin throwing, dribbling around cones then shooting, an obstacle course, egg and spoon, space hoppers and even more.  In each race they had a heat and if you got in the top three of that heat you would go into the finals.  The P6s helped with the activiites and were making sure everyone had a brilliant and fun time at sports day.  There were also P6s doing time keeping.  They had to blow a whistle every five minutes so that the P6s knew to take their group of children to the next group fun activity.  Once the P2s were done with their set of races the P1s did theirs.  On the side-line another group of P6s helped with setting up the track so they could start their races.  After the P1s did their reaces and the P2s did their fun activities, they started to go back to class and get their well-earned medals!! While they headed up to class the P6s tidied up all of the fun activiies.  The P1 and P2 classes had a very fun time doing sports day.  Sadly, they didn't get their ice cream until the P5, 6 and 7's sports day, when Harry's Ices came and gave all the classes ice0cream and ice lollies.  The select few that can't eat ice-cream - they got popsicles!!
