Hello everyone in 5MMG. Another week has flown by. ⏰
Today I’d like you to go to the story planning sheet where superhero H2O travels to the future. You can decide on the setting, extra characters and I’d like the theme of your story to be set in a time when there is a severe drought/shortage of water and H2O has to save the day. Have some fun with it and perhaps get an adult to upload it to the school info account so I can read it and I’ll post them in the literacy tab for everyone to read. I received a fabulous painting from Aoibhinn today - it makes me want to dive into cool, clear water and have fun. Well done Aoibhinn...it’s on the art tab for everyone to see. Keep them coming 5MMG- please.

Are you all working hard at the booklets that I sent home for you? Take your time and choose 1 or 2 each day from different workbooks.
Have you started the work to find out how water gets to our homes and how it is treated to make it clean again after we use it? It’s fascinating isn’t it? Now you can complete the worksheet called, ”How does water get to our homes?”

Now that you know how much work is involved in making clean water I think it’s a good idea if we all try to save water in our own homes.🏡 Make sure to let your parents know what you find out and pass on any good tips you find! Work hard and have fun.

Can I ask you all to be really careful when completing the spelling activities? Try to remember the rules we learned in class and apply them to the words? 📚
Also, make sure to apply the procedure for comprehension before writing your answers. Can you remember it? Read the passage- read the questions- read the passage again- 🖍underline and number the evidence- answer the questions using the words of the question. Take your time and look for the evidence.

Happy Monday everyone! All ready for a week of hard work I hope.
As well as completing your comprehension and spelling tasks on Reading Eggspress I’d like you to have a go at the tasks on Prodigy Maths. All the questions will be concentrating on using money this week- enjoy!
💧In your World Around Us work I want you all to check and record the amount of water in the container you left on a window sill last Monday. Check and see if the level has changed. Start thinking about what may be causing that - we’ll come back to it again next week💦. The main part of your topic work for this week is to investigate how water gets to your home. Use the resources in our WAU tab and also google reservoirs and water treatment works. See if you can find any info about Ballycastle and water treatment works. You can then start to complete the appropriate pages in your water booklet. Encourage the adults in your family to watch some videos about what happens when you flush wipes down the toilet!🚽
