The pictures below show Conall's Dad the farmer in our school. He brought his dog and new born lamb into class to give us an idea of what he does each day. He told us what his animals eat and said he is very busy because he has THOUSANDS OF TURKEYS to look after too!!!!!
CASEY' S CREATURES
What a wonderful afternoon we had when Casey's Creatures came to our nursery. We were so excited when we saw Casey carrying in lots of boxes full of animals. He brought in a possum, snake, hedgehog, millipede, skunk, lizzard, meerkat and a leaf insect. He told us interesting facts about each and we were able to touch them. Enjoy the pictures below.
The Police visit the nursery
We had a lovely visit from two Police Constables last week. They were very friendly and showed us lots of things they carry with them each day. They had a cool torch with them so the traffic is able to see them in the dark. They also had big bright coats that could be seen in the dark. They told us that it is very important to wear our seatbelts while travelling in the car. We also have to be very careful while holding Mum's/Dad's hand when we cross the road always looking and listening. The best part of the visit was the big stickers they gave us. We hope they come back another day!!!
JAMES' MUM CAME INTO THE NURSERY AND CHATTED TO THE CLASS ABOUT HER EARLY LIFE IN POLAND. SHE SAID THAT SHE ATE LUNCH IN HER NURSERY AND SHE ALSO HAD A BED TO GO TO SLEEP. SHE SAID THAT IN POLAND THEY COULD HAVE 4 MONTHS SNOW IN THE WINTER!!! (OUR KIDS WOULD LOVE THAT) MOST WEEKENDS SHE WOULD GO TO VISIT HER GRANDPARENTS AND PLAY HAPPILY IN THE SNOW, SLEDGING. THE SUMMERS HOWEVER WERE LOVELY AND WARM.
WE ARE ONLY BACK AND HAVE STARTED COOKING ALREADY!!! WE MADE OUR OWN DOUGH. IT WAS MESSY AND FUN.
WE MADE ELASTIC DOUGH
HO HO HO IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME!!
More Christmas fun in the nursery. Decorating the tree, making snowmen, playing with baubles in the water, dressing as Santa and the elves, writing our letters to Santa, wrapping presents, singing Christmas songs, pouring sand into Christmas bags and making dough angels.
Emma from "Ditch The Dark" campaign visited the nursery last Friday. We all dressed up brightly for her visit and even had bright lights and decorations on our bikes. She showed us how we can keep safe on these dark mornings and evenings. She let us wear some of her bright clothes. We learnt a lot from her visit.
We had great fun shopping in our local Spar. Some Mums and Dads came along with us. We met the shopkeepers and learnt that we have to use money to pay for our groceries.
SPOOKY HALLOWEEN FUN!!!
One of our Mum's came into the nursery to talk about the weather where she comes from. THE PHILIPPINES!!!! She said that it is hot and dry from March to June and that it rains all the rest of the year!!!( we thought it was wet here!!!!)
We had a very special visitor this week. Isla's Dad came into our nursery to show us a lobster and a crab. We were not scared, we even touched them. He also let us fish and we caught lots of tiny paper fish. It was great fun. We all hope he comes back again sometime soon
