Hi everyone. This is a strange morning for me today because it’s our last full school week and this will be my last message to 5MMG. Perhaps some of you have already heard, but for those who don’t know, this is going to be my last week in St Patrick’s & St Brigid’s PS. When we all get our summer holidays next week, you will be coming back to school in September, while this “old woman”ππ€£ππ€£ will be ending her teaching career. I’ve had a great time teaching all of you. I’ve enjoyed your fun and your silliness and I’ve certainly never been bored! I’m sure a little part of me will miss the craic in school and I’ll definitely miss your entertaining stories and excuses for everything you’ve forgotten to do. You are all amazing little kids with your wonderful lives ahead of you. I wish all of you every possible happiness as you progress through our school, your next school and whatever life has in store for you. Grab every opportunity life offers you to do anything exciting and challenging that comes your way and don’t ever be afraid to make mistakes- we all learn from them. Be nice! Take care - have fun this summer with your families. Enjoy your holidays everyone. I’m certainly going to enjoy mine. Love

Good morning everyone- another gorgeous day ahead according to Barra(ask your mum if you don’t understand πππ).
I met Cliodhna out for a walk yesterday with her mum, Lizzie- she’s missing you all just as much as I am. It was lovely to see you Cliodhna pet. A big thank you to Aodhann for sending in a photo of his vegetable patch full of green beans, being watered by his water butt- well done wee man! The photo is in the World Around Us tab, so have a look and be amazed.
Still waiting on the lolly licking photos so I can have a good old laugh at you! Come on... send them in, PLEASE! Go on outside and enjoy the lovely day and I’ll chat again tomorrow.

Good morning 5MMG. Countdown has now officially begun... 5 more school days until SUMMER HOLIDAYS πππππππππππππ Bet you can’t wait.
Mrs Kennedy has been very busy organising a little treat for those of you who love a reading challenge, particularly for any wet days we might get- just to stop any boredom creeping in.π€ͺ It is a summer reading challenge where you can keep a record of all the books πππyou read and get certificate rewards at the end of the summer, when we return to school. You will need to complete the quizzes on Accelerated Reader so that we can work out your points. The link is just below this, with all the details and record sheets you can print off at home. I hope you all enjoy completing it.
I’d like you to start preparing a Water Topic Talkπ§ or Learning Log to be finished before school finishes. If you decide to do the talk presentation π€then you need to deliver it to your family so that they can share all the enjoyment you’ve had learning about Water in Our World. Remember all the little ideas we came up with to increase the space for a learning log- wardrobe doors, concertina paper, envelopes with letters. Have some fun and be as creative as you can when making your learning log. π¨ Please send me photos of what you create so that I can share them with the whole class.πΈ I can’t wait to see what you come up with. See you soon.
Tuesday, 23rd June. Hi everyone. π¨
Not such a beautiful day today, but all my plants need the rain, so I’m not complaining lol. I received some fabulous photos showing what Chloe has been up to since we were all together. Her Egyptian PowerPoint is fabulous. Did any of the rest of you try one? I’ll put her work in the World Around Us tab for you all to see. Can I give a big shout out to Emily this morning for achieving her next certificate in Accelerated Reader? Well done Emilyππππ Emily and Caitlin have both reached their targets in Accelerated Reader as well. Fantastic effort girls.
Today I’d like you all to complete the Finding out About Water worksheet in your booklet. π¦ I’m sure you’ve all seen that some of the water has evaporated from your windowsill container- does this remind you of the water cycle in any way? πThink about it for a while before completing the worksheets. Perhaps draw and label what has happened? π§ Any photos of lolly lickers yet? Have a great day everyone and I’ll see you all again tomorrow.

Monday, 22nd June.
Good morning 5MMG- our last full week of year 5 is finally here. I remember on one of the first days of the year saying that you wouldn’t believe how quickly the year was going to fly in...that has certainly happened, hasn’t it? Wasn’t the strong wind at the weekend really exciting? π¬Did any of you watch the trees swaying and bending in it? π³π²π΄I love the sound of the wind blowing. π¬ We’ve almost finished our work for this year- still tasks to be completed on Reading Eggspress and Prodigy Maths. Don’t forget!
Today is the last day to measure and record the water in the jug on the windowsill.π§ As well as that, I promised that I had a fun activity for you to do at the end of our Water topic. Normally we would do this in school and sit outside in the sun afterwards to enjoy them, but we won’t be able to do it together this year- so perhaps when you have it finished you could go out into the garden with your device and scroll through the class photos from earlier in the year and have a laugh at the things we got up to before we had to leave school? It will be nice to see photos of your pals and of our classroom. So what is it that I want you to do? Well, you now know that water can change state from gas to liquid to solid,π§ so I’d like you to make ice lollies π‘in your own freezers. You can measure out equal amounts of your favourite fruit juice πππππππand water π§π§and pour them into ice lolly moulds if you have them, or ice cube moulds. If you’re very careful and take your time, you can pour in a small amount of one type of fruit juice mix, let it freeze and then add another type on top to make layered lollies. Please, please send me photos πΈ of you licking them. I really can’t wait to see how you all get on. Chat tomorrow
