National Poetry Day
Todays was National Poetry Day and our pupils were doing related activities. Our theme this year is the Environment. All year groups wrote poems about it and enjoyed it very much. There will be prizes for the best poems in every class, and they will be read out at assembly on Friday.
P1 entertained the Early Years assembly with their rendition of songs in English anf French in honour of EDL. As a rights respecting school the adults were helping the children to access their right to Article 30 - the right to practice your own language and customs. Article 30 is the Article being focused on in September.
Today P7 had a great experiance with Mac and Scott. They are part of a programe called Sport Changes Lives.
Local author and illustarter, Paddy Donnely came to visit our school to share his love for writing and drawing. He gave a talk about his new book and showed the children how to draw. P2 and P3 had lots of fun!
Pupils from P7 DMC and P7 CK are now in charge of putting school events on the school website. The pupils are:
Madison, Darragh, Aoibhinn, Eilidh, Maisie, Orla, Bronagh, Daniel and Noah.
We are really excited to be in charge!!!! :)
