The week before Halloween P2 went batty but it was all for a good cause-they were learning about bats from Eleanor Killough, a representative from the National Trust. The children decided that bats, the only flying mammals, were more cute than creepy and want to thank Eleanor for all the information they learnt.
20th October was an exciting day for Primary 2- Primary 5. We had a visit from Mike from World of Owls who brought a variety of living things for us to look at and in some cases touch! Everyone was very brave apart from Mrs.McKiernan who was more scared of the living things than they were of her! Thank you, Mike-we had a great day.
The 25th September started in a flurry of different languages in school as the children celebrated European Day of Languages. P2 and P3 children coloured in pictures with "Hello" written in a variety of languages. P4 and P5 took part in an exciting treasure hunt around the school to find answers based on the countries in the European Union. P6 and P7 had to answer geographical questions based on the countries in Europe which even stumped their teachers! As a reward for their hard work one child from each class received a tasty reward of french croissants, swiss chocolate and german sweeties! Being European suddenly seems a lot sweeter!
