St. Patrick's & St. Brigid's PS and Nursery Unit were delighted to bring our PTA Christmas Fayre back on Sunday 4th December 2022 for the first time since Christmas 2019. We had an amazing afternoon of fun for everyone, including Santa's Grotto, Lucky Lapland grid, Santa's Chimney throw, Reindeer food making, tombolas and our famous Rickety Wheel. There was a constant supply of tea, coffee and mince pies and the Christmas Hampers raffle was amazing with over forty hampers to win.
We are so grateful to everyone who worked so hard to make this such a successful event. Our PTA worked tirelessly in organising, coordinating and approaching over 100 local businesses to donate prizes for the rickety wheel. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of these businesses and our friends and families who contributed so generously to the hampers.
Many thanks to Padraig Hill who spent the afternoon spinning the wheel and keeping everything moving; to Donal Cunningham who has donned the Santa outfit for the 10th time. Thanks to Mr Kinney and Mrs McKiernan who coordinated everything and put in endless hours behind the scenes to get everything organised; to our staff, both teaching and non-teaching, who gave up time on their precious weekends to man stalls and welcome our families.
Finally, I want to thank our parents, friends and families who came out in such numbers to support our school. We raised an amazing amount of money but just as importantly, it was a great afternoon of entertainment and joy for our children and our community.
Today some boys from Primary 7 were selected to play at Cumann na mBuscol hurling tournament. They played really well and won overall. Well done boys!
Today our Primary 7 pupils went to the Ramoan Parish Hall to spread christmas cheer to some people there. They sang a few carols and the got delicious snacks as a treat.
We are grateful to Gaelfast/Antrim GAA for the coaching provided by Dominic McKinley over the past 8 weeks.
The children thoroughly enjoyed their time with Dominic, and they didn’t want their weekly hurling/camogie sessions to end.
Not only have the children seen great progress in their skills development but also the Physical Literacy and cross-curricular learning has been impressive.
We hope that the children will continue to work hard on their new skills over the winter period and possibly put them to good use when the local club season gets up and running again in the new year.
Last week was Anti-Bullying week so all of the pupils were doing activities about being kind.On Friday everyone wore odd socks to celebrate Anti-Bullying.This years theme is Reach Out.You can reach out to someone you trust if you are being bullied and they can help you stop it!!
In our school we have a wide variety of after school activities that all students can attend. We are sure that your child will find something that they enjoy. Here are some pictures of the children having fun.
